3-Hour Automatic Fire Curtain System

EN 1634-1 & UL Certified Fire and Smoke Compartmentation Solution

EN 1634-1 & UL Certified
E180 Fire Rating
Gravity Fail-Safe
ANLIN® Technical Fabric

Our Automatic Fire Curtain System is designed to create temporary fire and smoke compartments where conventional fire doors or masonry walls are impractical. Hidden inside a compact headbox during normal operation, the curtain automatically deploys when triggered by the building fire alarm system, forming a fire-resistant barrier that helps contain flames, smoke, and heat.

Suitable for commercial, industrial, and public buildings, the system supports modern architectural designs while helping improve occupant safety and protecting critical escape routes.

Whether installed in shopping malls, hotels, airports, office buildings, hospitals, warehouses, or transportation hubs, our fire curtains provide reliable compartmentation without affecting the open appearance of the building.

Why Choose Our Automatic Fire Curtain System?

Modern buildings often feature atriums, escalators, glass façades, and other open spaces that cannot be protected by traditional fire doors. Automatic fire curtains provide an effective alternative by remaining invisible during daily operation and deploying only when required.

Key benefits include:

Up to 3-hour fire resistance (E180)
Automatic deployment after fire alarm activation
Effective smoke and fire compartmentation
Concealed ceiling installation
Suitable for large structural openings
Supports evacuation and firefighting operations
Compatible with most fire alarm systems
Low maintenance and long service life
Custom dimensions available

How the Fire Curtain Works

Under normal conditions, the curtain remains fully concealed inside the steel headbox. When the fire alarm system or thermal detector sends an activation signal, the controller releases the tubular motor and the curtain descends automatically to its programmed position.

The deployed curtain creates a temporary fire barrier that helps:

Prevent vertical fire spread through elevator shafts
Reduce horizontal fire spread across open-plan spaces
Limit smoke migration between fire compartments
Protect designated escape routes
Improve evacuation efficiency
Reduce property damage

The gravity fail-safe mechanism ensures curtain deployment even during power failure, providing dependable protection during emergency situations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an automatic fire curtain?

An automatic fire curtain is a fire-resistant barrier that remains concealed during normal operation and automatically deploys when activated by a fire alarm system.

Where are fire curtains installed?

Fire curtains are commonly installed in atriums, elevator shafts, escalator openings, shopping malls, hotels, airports, hospitals, warehouses, and other buildings with large open spaces.

Can the system be customized?

Yes. Width, height, control system, installation method, and fire rating can all be customized according to project requirements.

Does the curtain work during power failure?

Yes. The gravity fail-safe system allows the curtain to descend automatically even when the main power supply is interrupted.

Which international standards does the system comply with?

Depending on the project specification, systems can be supplied with certifications including EN 1634-1, EN 12101-1, UL 10D, UL 1784, BS 476, and CE.
